Cotton

Cotton production required alot of land and slave labor. Here are some cotton plants found at Boone Hall. After harvest, the cotton was processed in the building shown. This building housed the Cotton Gin(s) and this is where the cotton was bailed. The standard cotton bail was 500 lbs.

The building has wooden braces to add support against hurricanes / earthquakes. The building is also being rebuilt.
